Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a fertility procedure designed to enhance the chances of fertilization by placing sperm directly into the woman’s uterus. This straightforward technique facilitates the journey of healthy sperm towards the egg, optimizing the chances of conception. Initially, the female partner may receive fertility medications or ovulogens, and the ovulation cycle is closely monitored using Trans Vaginal Ultrasound. Once the follicles have reached optimal size, along with a favorable endometrial lining, a trigger injection is administered, followed by the IUI procedure. Prior to commencing the IUI cycle, it is essential to conduct a semen analysis for the male partner. Some individuals may require medication to improve sperm count and motility. Additionally, ensuring tubal patency through procedures like SSG/HSG or Laparoscopy is crucial before proceeding with IUI.
